Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of DearMaps, a mobile application developed by Juan David ("we," "us," or "our"). By using DearMaps, you agree to these terms.

Using DearMaps

• DearMaps is available on iOS devices running iOS 26 or later.
• You may use DearMaps as a guest (local only) or create an account using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use DearMaps.

Your Content

• You retain full ownership of all content you create in DearMaps, including text, photos, videos, and audio notes.
• We do not claim any rights to your private content. Your encrypted memories are yours alone.
• When you choose to publish content to the public feed, you grant us a limited license to display that content within the DearMaps platform. You can revoke this license at any time by unpublishing the content.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you publish.

Subscriptions and Payments

• DearMaps offers a free tier and a Pro subscription.
• Pro subscriptions are available as monthly ($2.99/month), yearly ($19.99/year), or lifetime ($49.99) purchases.
• All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Subscription management and cancellation are handled through your Apple ID settings.
• Prices are in USD and may vary by region as determined by the App Store.
• If you cancel a Pro subscription, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, existing Pro content remains accessible in read-only mode.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use DearMaps to store or distribute illegal content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app.
• Use the social feed to harass, abuse, or spam other users.
• Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity.
• Attempt to access other users' encrypted data.
• Use automated systems to scrape or collect data from the public feed.

Service Availability

• We strive to keep DearMaps available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
• We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
• Your private data stored in iCloud remains accessible to you regardless of our service status.

Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from the app settings.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
• Upon termination, your private data in iCloud remains yours. Published content on our servers will be deleted.

Disclaimers

• DearMaps is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
• We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, iCloud issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
• We recommend keeping local backups of important memories.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of DearMaps.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of DearMaps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
